It’s much like anything — bigger companies, such as Home Depot has less quality review and deals in multiple crafts versus a dedicated flooring store that specializes and has better direct to consumer products in flooring and better quality review.

It's probably overkill for what we need (we have dogs and cats), but we wanted it to last and ideally never do the flooring again. It's a one-story house with a concrete foundation. I purchased Smartcore Ultra, which is the Pro specs in a longer and wider plank, for my own home. If you ask me, and you did, I wouldn't do less than the 20mil wear layer - especially if you have pets.
