He says that because its a pre-production car the numbers are incorrect (the current max speed should be lower than the speed available with pre-heating). But it's nice feature added to the ID.7

Apr 2, 2024 · Personally, I like a small SUV for moving stuff, family gear, etc around, so I like the ID.4 over the ID.7, but for a different use case, could see the argument for the 7. 4.0 software seems much improved, so I'd probably pick the new ID.4 over the 7 personally.

Citing strong demand of the ID.7 Touring (the wagon version of this model) in Europe, the brand didn't say when the ID.7 would become available stateside. I very much like the styling of both, but if ID.7 nails it on the range not being wildly different between the Pro and Pro S and the RWD vs AWD, I'm very heavily leaning toward this. EDIT: I also would love to stay within the VW family again if possible.

Jan 29, 2024 · Regardless, neither version seems to add any new features other than possible bug fixes, etc. in the background and VW is still trying to get the cars baselined to a level where OTA is even possible for major releases. It appears, as I noted, that after 2+ years and multiple baselines, VW still has not completely figured out OTA.
