Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers told reporters Saturday that his ankle was "a little tender" after the Longhorns' 31-14 victory over the Kentucky Wildcats, and coach Steve Sarkisian added that the ankle "just kind of kept tightening up on him" in the win.

When Texas got the ball back, Ewers was given the honors of taking a knee in what is expected to be his final game at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium (unless Texas hosts a College Football Playoff game). The Longhorns travel to play No. 15 Texas A&M at Kyle Field in the return of the historic Lone Star Showdown for the first time since 2011.

The largest ovations went to, in no particular order, tight end Gunnar Helm ( before he caught two touchdowns in Texas’ 31-14 win vs. Kentucky on Saturday ), defensive backs Michael Taaffe and Jahdae Barron (the former of which led a campaign to design “Jahdae Barron for Thorpe Award” T-shirts that were worn postgame) and quarterback Quinn Ewers.
