A woman in her 70s was struck by a silver VW Transporter which is thought to have left the road and mounted the pavement.
The strikes occurred at 4am local time, destroying an eight-storey building and leaving a crater in the ground.
Forensics are at a flat where two people have been arrested following an assault in the early hours of this morning.
