A once-upon-a-time MLS powerhouse is looking to recapture its previous glory. Standing in the way of the Galaxy and their hopes and dreams recapturing the glory of a bygone era are the Seattle Sounders, a familiar opponent making another deep playoff run.

Seeking their first MLS Cup berth in 10 years, things did not come so easily against the Seattle Sounders. It took more than 85 minutes for the Galaxy to unlock Seattle’s organized approach, but Dejan Joveljic got on the end of a pass from Riqui Puig and beat Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei to lift the Galaxy to a 1-0 win.

After a run of four MLS Cup appearances in five years, the all-conquering Sounders are ready for another title tilt.

The Sounders' season ended one game away from the MLS Cup after they allowed a goal to the Galaxy in the 85th minute of the Western Conference final.

The Galaxy are in their first Western Conference final since 2014 and are looking for their first final appearance since that same year.
