A wave of energy will drop into the region overnight, with snow showers possible for areas mainly west of Interstate 77. Accumulations for the higher peaks will be less than half an inch, with a dusting possible in the valleys.

Unseasonably cold conditions continue to impact Southwest and Central Virginia through the middle of the week. Light snow showers are possible on Tuesday morning in the New River Valley. Otherwise, temperatures will start in the 20s and teens with wind chill values in the single digits and teens.
