While it remains to be seen which developing Star Wars movies actually happen, Lucasfilm has learned from at least one of its previous mistakes.

Volume 3 will premiere on Disney+ in 2025. The third instalment will feature nine short films from eight different Japanese anime studios, Disney and Lucasfilm announced today at the Disney APAC showcase held in Singapore.

According to Disney, the untitled “Star Wars” film that was set for December 18, 2026 has been taken off the schedule. The general consensus is that this film would have been the Rey movie directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. That only leaves “ The Mandalorian and Grogu ” for 2026 and the next “Star Wars” film after that would be December 2027.

Star Wars: Visions Season 3 has been renewed by Disney and Lucasfilm during an event in Singapore. The new season will involve nine episodes and will be released in 2025.
