California Highway Patrol (CHP) is set to begin its Thanksgiving weekend Maximum Enforcement Period on Wednesday night.

The night before Thanksgiving is one of the busiest days of the year for bars and restaurants as families and friends come together to celebrate the holiday.

As millions of motorists get ready to hit the road, the California Highway Patrol is activating its annual Thanksgiving Maximum Enforcement Period (MEP), which resulted in more than 1,000 arrests last year.

As Thanksgiving approaches, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) is ramping up efforts to ensure road safety amid a predicted 38% increase in travel.

The Highway Patrol’s Commercial Vehicle Section will send critical safety messages directly to commercial truck drivers for the Thanksgiving period, according to CHP.

The California Highway Patrol is planning a “maximum enforcement” period to ensure safe driving through the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Last year’s Thanksgiving Maximum Enforcement Period resulted in 1,047 arrests statewide for driving under the influence.

California Highway Patrol officers will conduct its annual Thanksgiving Maximum Enforcement Period beginning tonight in the Southland and around the state to promote traffic safety during the holiday weekend.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is stepping up enforcement efforts for Thanksgiving to ensure that Texans have a safe holiday, the agency said. Texas Highway Patrol (THP) troopers will increase enforcement efforts on the roads from Wednesday,
