Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate, has roots deep in the Midwest. Walz, 60, was raised in a small community in Nebraska, where he says his parents taught him the importance of working for the common good and serving the public. His father was a public school administrator and his mother was a community activist.

"As a founding member of She Shoulda Picked Shapiro, I think it's relatively clear now that she made a mistake," Nate Silver said.
