Researchers have identified acute effects of cigarette and e-cigarette smoking on vascular function, even without nicotine.

The findings were telling: After inhaling each type of vape or smoke, blood flow in the femoral artery slowed significantly.

The research comes from a study that has not been published in a peer-reviewed journal but will be presented at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America in Chicago in December.
