A recent special holiday luncheon for nine families in New Orleans by Derek Carr did not go unnoticed, as he's the Week 17 NFLPA Community MVP.

Back on December 8th when Derek Carr broke his left hand in a game against the New York Giants, most thought his season was likely over. Which would have meant he wouldn't get the opportunity to face his former Raiders team when they come to New Orleans in Week 17.

Derek Carr led the Las Vegas Raiders for nine seasons, being drafted in 2014. While the Silver and Black had two playoff appearances, it didn’t lead to consistent success and was released in 2023. Carr signed with the New Orleans Saints when he became a free agent.
