The fallout from Monday's flooding caused by a water main break in Southwest Detroit is extending far beyond damage to homes.

The city tells CBS News Detroit they should have a better idea of how long inspections will take within a few days.

Snow-covered vehicles were frozen and inoperable after their tires remained encased in ice Wednesday and frozen to the pavement.

The city says that of the nearly 400 homes in the flood zone, 190 had basements flooded and 174 lost heat. City officials have offered hotel rooms to those affected.
