Elina Svitolina has rallied from two breaks down in the first set and taken 11 of the next 12 games in a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Veronika Kudermetova to reach the Australian Open quarterfinals for the third time.

Elina Svitolina beats Veronika Kudermetova in straight sets ( 6-4, 6-1) at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne to set up a clash with American Madison Keys.

Svitolina, the 28th seed in Melbourne, ended her 2024 season prematurely to have surgery on a niggling foot injury that had plagued her for two years. She also took time out to give birth to her first child, Skye, with her partner Gael Monfils.
