More than 70 cats were found at a home in the Town of Grafton after a We Energies worker checked the property for a report of no electricity, water, or gas.

The Wisconsin Humane Society is taking care of 73 cats recently removed from a single household. The Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office said on Jan. 22, a We Energies worker requested a welfare check on the homeowner of a residence on Woodhaven Drive in the town of Grafton.

Responding deputies spoke to the elderly homeowner and determined that the house wasn’t fit for habitation by either the person or the 73 cats that were eventually removed from the home.
