AAP legislator Naresh Balyan arrested under MCOCA after securing bail in extortion case, sparking political controversy in Delhi.

Balyan was arrested on November 30 following the release of audio clips allegedly featuring him in a conversation with gangster Kapil Sangwan, alias Nandu.

Advocate Dr. N C Sharma criticised Balyan’s arrest under MCOCA, stating that the police had not adhered to the legal procedures required by the act.

Delhi Police informed a court on Wednesday they would arrest Aam Aadmi Party MLA Naresh Balyan, who is already in police custody in an extortion case, in a case booked under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
