BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis will take oath as the chief minister on Thursday, while Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar will be deputy chief ministers. Only three prominent leaders will be sworn in tomorrow.

The BJP core committee in a meeting held on Wednesday finalised the name of Devendra Fadnavis before the party's Maharashtra legislature party meet, sources said.

Fadnavis’ name was proposed by former Ministers Chandrakant Patil and Sudhir Mungantiwar and it was seconded by a host of legislators, including the Mumbai unit chief Ashish Shelar
