A recount that was supposed to have been done Wednesday is now delayed until next week. But even once that's done, separate legal challenges could continue to delay the official results in the 2024 NC Supreme Court election between Allison Riggs and Jefferson Griffin.

Riggs, who leads Griffin in the Supreme Court race, said her own parents had their votes challenged by Republican election protests.

Trailing incumbent Supreme Court Justice Allison Riggs by 625 votes, Republican Appeals Court Judge Jefferson Griffin wants to have batches of votes discounted. Griffin has challenged ballots of more than 60,
