Following veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers’s trial and error, the New York Jets will now move on to find their quarterback of the future. A Jets career headlined by injuries and woeful performances now sees Rodgers looking for a new team or retirement.

But this would be a huge, expensive mistake. Rodgers is 42 years old and based on last season, his best football is well behind him. If the Steelers want to throw away the 2025 season and start a full rebuild, they can do it much cheaper than paying Rodgers to do it.

Elliott, who commented on an Instagram post telling the former Jets quarterback to “Leave his ass at the retirement home” on Feb. 12, was pictured with Rodgers while at a training facility, with the pair smiling.
