HOUSTON - Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) announced today that head football coach Leonard McDowell’s contract will not be renewed. McDowell has served as the Panthers’ head coach since 2022.

Prairie View A&M is moving on from football coach Bubba McDowell after three seasons, the school announced on Sunday. The school did not renew McDowell’s contract after the Panthers finished 5-7 overall and 3-5 in the SWAC. Overall, McDowell was 17-18 in his three seasons.
