Gukesh’s solid form this year along with the fact that Ding has not won a game in the Classical format since January this year makes the Indian GM a strong favourite to emerge triumphant in World Chess Championship battle in Singapore.

Barely a couple of weeks away from the FIDE World Championship match in Singapore, defending champion Ding Liren of China has admitted that he is 'worried about losing very badly' to India's D Gukesh. "I'm worried about losing very badly. Hopefully, it won't happen," Ding said in an interview posted on chess app Take Take Take 's YouTube channel.

The title match between Indian grandmaster D Gukesh and reigning world champion Ding Liren will be played over a period of three weeks, comprising 14 classical games and four rest days

Indian Grandmaster R Praggnanandhhaa said D Gukesh is the favourite for the World Chess Championship against Ding Liren due to his current good form.

On current form, D Gukesh is the favourite to win the World Chess Championship title against his Chinese opponent, Ding Liren, believes Indian teenage Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa.The World Championship is scheduled to be played from November 25 till December 15 in Singapore.

"Gukesh is definitely the favourite, considering his recent form. But the World Championship is a different tournament altogether. I'm sure Gukesh is preparing really well. We'll see how the match goes,
