The recent volcanic eruption on the Reykjanes Peninsula became a surreal sight for those visiting the Blue Lagoon. Shared by Brandon, this captivating footage shows the night sky illuminated by fountains of lava rising from the eruption site.

The resort said it has evacuated visitors and suspended operations across its facilities as a precautionary measure at least through Nov. 24.

Iceland's seismic monitors say the eruption created a fissure around 3 kilometers, but they estimated the eruption was considerably smaller than the previous eruption in August.
