An NFL insider added more fuel to the growing rumors that Russell Wilson will leave the Pittsburgh Steelers for the Raiders this spring.

Despite the losses, Wilson played some good football, which has warranted him a trip to the Pro Bowl. The Steelers quarterback is now a 10-time Pro Bowler but has now been voted in since the 2021 season when he was still part of the Seattle Seahawks.

Russell Wilson has a chance to turn the 2025 Pro Bowl Games into his own audition, much like Derek Carr did before landing with the Saints.

The Athletic's Jeff Howe raised some eyebrows when he reported last week that current Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson "could be a stopgap" option for the Las Vegas Raiders regarding the 2025 season in part because the pending free agent and new Raiders head coach Pete Carroll have "mended fences.

Pete Carroll is back in the NFL, and he'll be chomping gum on the sideline of the Las Vegas Raiders in 2025. The Raiders will be in the market for a quarterback this offseason, either via the draft or free agency. One free agent quarterback could be an enticing match for Carroll and one he has previous experience with.

Wilson helped lead the Seahawks to eight playoff appearances and one Super Bowl win in 2013 and produced the best seasons of his NFL career under Carroll. Making matters more interesting is the fact that Wilson reportedly wanted to join the Raiders last offseason prior to signing with the Steelers.

While the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles get set to meet in Super Bowl LIX next month, the rest of the NFL is already hard at work preparing for the 2025 season. Free agency and the draft present opportunities to restock rosters, with a number of teams hoping to land their next franchise quarterback in the coming months.
