Top-ranked Jannik Sinner became the first player to advance to the semifinals at the ATP Finals on Thursday. Sinner was assured of a spot in the last four after U.S. Open finalist Taylor Fritz beat Alex de Minaur 5-7,

Jannik Sinner beats Taylor Fritz 6-4 6-4 while Daniil Medvedev defeats Alex de Minaur 6-2 6-4 at the ATP Tour Finals.

During the past two years, Sinner is 2-0 against de Minaur in their head-to-head matchups. Their last one took place at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament on February 18, 2024 and was won by Sinner 7-5, 6-4.
