A 71-year-old San Diego woman who was last seen in La Mesa and had been missing for more than a month was found dead, according to the La Mesa Police Department.

"Thank you to the many citizens, volunteer organizations, and Sheriff’s Search and Rescue, for their support and contributions to the search for Ms. Crowder since she was reported missing," the La Mesa Police Department said in a statement.

A 71-year-old woman with dementia who had been missing for over a month was found dead along an East County highway on Monday.
