Back in 2017, Samsung released the first showing of DeX (short for “desktop experience”) that allowed high-end Samsung Galaxy phones to plug into a special dock and be used like a desktop PC. In 2019, the dock was eliminated, and in 2020, wireless DeX came out — on Windows, Samsung DeX could be accessed via the DeX app.

Samsung is pulling the plug on its DeX for PC app, which allowed users of recent Galaxy phones to access their phones from their PCs. The company invites users to switch to Microsoft's similar Phone Link app.

On the Samsung DeX landing page, the company revealed that One UI 7 will not support the Samsung DeX app on Windows. This app made it possible to seamlessly transfer files and more between devices.
