The Witcher 4, the very unofficial name for CD Projekt Red’s Project Polaris, is in full production, the company announced in a brief finance report

That's right, folks, you can finally start counting down the days to the next Witcher game, as production has finally kicked off at CD Projekt Red.

The Witcher 4 is still "the most far along" of CD Projekt Red 's upcoming games as the developers start "the most intensive phase" of development.

Poland's CD Projekt said on Tuesday it had entered the production phase of its planned game in the blockbuster Witcher universe, as it posted a 61.5% drop in third-quarter net profit. CD Projekt faces a couple of years without a major video game release and its revenue for the upcoming quarters will be mainly from sales of existing games.

Following director Sebastian Kalemba's announcement that The Witcher 4 has now "entered the full-scale production phase" and an accompanying teaser, fans have entered a theorizing frenzy about Project Polaris' potential plot.

Besides this new mainline entry, CD Projekt is also working on two other new Witcher games in a spin-off codenamed Sirius and a remake of the original game codenamed Canis Majoris.
