George injured his knee when Memphis’ Desmond Bane inadvertently landed on George’s foot while both went for a rebound. It's the same knee injury that kept him out to start the season.

The Sixers then announced in the fourth quarter that George will not return due to a left knee hyperextension. For those paying attention at home, that is the same left knee that George had an issue with in the preseason that kept him out for a few weeks and caused him to miss the first five games of the season.
