An Oakland County man purchased a Michigan Lottery instant ticket at a BP in Farmington Hills that won him $6,000,000.

LANSING, MI -- An Oakland County man plans on starting a business after he turned a $50 lottery ticket into a $6 million jackpot win recently.

A man who occasionally buys Michigan Lottery scratch-off tickets said he thought he was going to fall over when he discovered that his recent purchase made at a Farmington Hills gas station was a $6 million winner.

The 36-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, is receiving his winnings in a lump sum payment of about $4.1 million.

The 51-year-old, who chose to remain anonymous, bought his ticket at East Holly Oil in Holly Township, according to a Michigan Lottery press release on Thursday.
