Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier and his staff have a daunting job this offseason to overhaul a roster that needs an infusion of talent and toughness. One of those roster areas is at the tight end position.

The Miami Dolphins are 29th in the NFL in salary cap space, according to Spotrac, at -$14.2 million. But general manager Chris Grier must address key team needs in NFL free agency, which begins March 12 at 4 p.m.

Alabama’s Jalen Milroe and Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel talked with the Dolphins about the team’s back up quarterback role, the two told the Miami Herald. Both reportedly had good conversations yet, as has been previously written, the decision to actually draft Tagovailoa’s backup rather than sign a veteran free agent is questionable to say the least.

The Dolphins already have a former Alabama football QB leading their squad in Tua Tagovailoa. They aren't in need of a new starter, but they have talked to Jalen Milroe about him potentially being a backup in Miami. The conversations have reportedly been successful.
