OPEC has withdrawn from the oral statement portion of The International Court of Justice's advisory opinion on the Obligations of States in respect of Climate Change.

Officials from almost 100 countries are at the International Court of Justice in the Netherlands, asking the court to issue an opinion on the responsibility of certain nations to protect the planet from climate change.

The most vulnerable countries hope the ICJ will decide to strengthen the legal and financial obligations of those responsible for global warming. The hearings are scheduled to last two weeks.
