The Federal Emergency Management Agency has extended the deadline to apply for assistance after Hurricanes Milton and Helene until Jan. 7. Homeowners and renters with losses from Hurricanes Milton and Helene may be eligible for FEMA financial assistance for displacement,

Homeowners and renters may be able to get help for displacement, home repairs, property losses, and other uninsured or underinsured expenses, according to a news release. If you had damage from Helene and Milton, you must apply separately for both and include the dates of the damage for each.

FEMA has extended the deadline to apply for relief assistance after Hurricanes Milton and Helene. Homeowners and renters who experienced losses during the hurricanes now have until Jan. 7 to send in their applications.

With one week left before the deadline, FEMA is advising residents to apply for assistance after Hurricane Helene. December 2 is the last day for anyone in Virginia affected by Hurricane Helene to apply for FEMA assistance.
