Elon Musk said on X that he envisions Starships making uncrewed trips to Mars by 2026 before astronauts head to the Red Planet two years later.

The billionaire says that if he doesn't successfully colonize Mars at some point in the next few years, you can blame Kamala Harris.

"These will be uncrewed to test the reliability of landing intact on Mars," Musk said in an X post.

SpaceX founder Elon Musk says that the first of his company's Starship spacecraft will set off for Mars in two years and the first crewed missions will follow in 2028. He sees this as part of his plan to make humanity an interplanetary species.

SpaceX blasted regulatory delays from the FAA, which it said would push back the next launch of Starship to late November.
