The weather heading into the weekend looks mild and dry in Denver before weather changes arrive late on Sunday and into early next week.

Denver and the Eastern Plains are forecast to see windy, cold weather throughout Tuesday as temperatures drop 10 to 15 degrees before normal, NWS forecasters said.

Scattered snow showers will return to Colorado’s mountains on Monday and the storm is forecast to move into the Denver area on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. This wave of snow will be short and not much is expected to stick, NWS forecasters said in a Hazardous Weather Outlook.

Temperatures will still surge to the 40s and 50s. A cold front will push through Colorado Monday night into Tuesday. This will bring a surge of cold air and snow showers to the state for the day on Tuesday.

Denver's weather today is sunny with a high of 53°F and a light breeze, becoming partly cloudy and dropping to 26°F at night.

The National Weather Service said snowfall accumulations from Friday into Saturday morning could be significant, with 12 to 20 inches expected south of Denver.

Denver’s snow totals will pile up even more as yet another round of accumulations are in the metro’s forecast Friday into early Saturday morning where up to 10 more inches of snow is possible.

Most of Colorado will see mainly sunny skies on Thursday with just above-average highs and a few clouds over the foothills in the Denver weather forecast.
