Chris Johnston appeared on TSN Early Trading Tuesday. As part of the conversation between Johnston and Gino Reda, David Jiricek‘s name came up as did discussions about his being on the trade market.

At the AHL level, Jiricek has demonstrated his high offensive upside, posting 14 goals and 56 points in 86 games with the Cleveland Monsters. He is also off to a solid start with the Monsters this season, recording a goal and an assist in two games.

NHL insiders are saying a David Jiricek trade could happen soon, but the Blue Jackets are also content to stand pat.

A trade may not be imminent, but the Blue Jackets and their former first-round draft pick appear headed that way.
