Washington, D.C. could see its first snowflakes of the season on Friday, while regions north and west of the city could see heavy accumulations from a storm system that is moving across the region.

Snowflake season is finally upon us, but are you ready for it? Temperatures at or near the freezing level are needed to transition that rainfall into falling snowflakes. Temperatures will be at or below the freezing level on Thursday and Friday allowing for some rainfall to transition into a snowy rain mix.
