The storm prompted evacuation orders, as officials warned of flash floods in burn-scarred areas near the Eaton and Palisades fires and cautioned drivers to stay off the roads.

A major storm system moved through into Southern California from Thursday to Friday, dumping several inches of rain in some areas. Record rainfall was reported in downtown Los Angeles, with 2.86 inches breaking the record for the day of 2.
