Mufasa: The Lion King, a Christmastime hit, is headed to Disney+ in late March, according to Disney Entertainment co-chairman Dana Walden.

Mufasa: The Lion King has confirmed its Disney+ streaming release date. The film, which acts as a prequel to the franchise and follows the younger Mufasa, came out in cinemas last year. Following a digital release last month, it has now been announced that the movie will hit Disney+ on March 26.

March 11 (UPI) -- Mufasa: The Lion King is set to land on Disney+ on March 26. Walt Disney Studios announced the streaming premiere in a social media post Tuesday. "It's time to experience the legend of Mufasa," a caption reads.
