Max Scherzer reportedly set to join Blue Jays on a one-year deal
The deal with Toronto for Scherzer, 40, is reportedly pending a physical. The three-time Cy Young winner was limited by injuries to just 43⅓ inning with the Rangers in 2024.

Scherzer, who was with the Tigers from 2010-14, joins a rotation that is fronted by Kevin Gausman, José Berríos and Chris Bassitt. The Blue Jays also have Bowden Francis coming off an impressive rookie season and Yariel Rodríguez, who signed a $32 million, five-year contract last February.
