HBCU rivalries are always intense, but can also be put aside when its time for some HBCU unity. Check out how FAMU pulled up to support its SWAC rivals at the NCAA tourney.

Alabama State is one of two HBCU men’s teams in this year’s field for the NCAA Tournament. The Hornets played in the very first game of the tournament on Tuesday night versus Saint Francis (PA) in the NCAA First Four, with the Hornets winning 70-68. The win was the first NCAA Tournament win for the Montgomery, Alabama HBCU.

This week both the Alabama State men and Southern women won their first NCAA Tournament games in each school’s history. Knox is a redshirt sophomore from Memphis, Tennessee who arrived at Alabama State in 2022.
