Colder air hits Chicago this morning but at least it will be sunny today. Highs will be close to 40 degrees but with a strong breeze it will feel colder.

CHICAGO (CBS) — Some Chicago residents are waking up to the first snow of the season and there's more to come. During the early Thursday morning commute, expect a few passing flurries/snow showers but no major road impacts. The widespread snow moves in after 7 a.m., which will aid in slushy accumulations on the roads and reduced visibility.

After a gloomy start to the week, clearing skies are expected Monday night, with temperatures dropping to the mid to upper 20s.

While the bulk of the moisture from a passing cold front could miss the Chicago area, significantly colder temperatures can be expected into the holiday weekend.
