BYU football may be chasing a College Football Playoff spot, but the Cougars will have a national champion no matter what this fall. Well, two actually. The men’s and women’s cross country teams both won the national championship in Wisconsin on Saturday.

BYU became the first school in more than two decades to capture both the men's and women's cross country NCAA team titles.

On Saturday, November 23, the top collegiate runners battled on the grass at the 2024 NCAA Cross-Country Championships in Verona, Wisconsin. Temperatures were chilly, in the high 30s, with cloudy skies and little wind.

For the second time in five years, BYU claimed the women’s NCAA cross country championship, confirming the Cougars’ weeks-long No. 1 ranking in the coaches’ poll.
