Changes are bound to happen for coach Shane Beamer and South Carolina football. After their 9-3 season and record-breaking 5-3 record in conference play, the Gamecocks will lose and gain players via the transfer portal this offseason.

South Carolina wide receiver Tyshawn Russell plans on entering the transfer portal, he announced via social media on Tuesday afternoon. The Pennsylvania native committed to South Carolina as a three-star prospect in the Class of 2023 but has played sparingly over the past two seasons.

This season, though, after South Carolina brought in four running backs — freshman Matthew Fuller as well as three transfers: Rocket Sanders (Arkansas), Oscar Adaway III (North Texas) and Jawarn Howell (SC State). Braswell fell down the depth chart. The sophomore did not record a stat in 2024.
