Gabby Gladieux led the team with a 9.9 while Rachel Rybicki started off with a 9.8 and Shania Adams, Jamison Sears, and Paityn Walker each notched a 9.85. The solid start gave Alabama a 49.250 which placed it into the early lead.

Last year, the Tigers took the short drive south to New Orleans to compete in the night session and comfortably took first place in the SEC Championship. Their 198.075 bested the Florida Gators (197.300), Kentucky Wildcats (197.600) and Alabama Crimson Tide (197.750).
