Firefighters battle blaze in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park as NYC’s unprecedented dry stretch continues
A brush fire broke out in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park on Friday night amid a stretch of historically dry weather, officials said. More than 100 firefighters responded to the two-acre blaze – which was snuffed out shortly before 10 p.m. – in the rolling meadow known as the Nethermead in the middle of the popular greenspace, according to the FDNY.
