MANCHESTER, New Hampshire (WGME) -- A venomous snake was found in a shipment of bananas at a Market Basket in New Hampshire.

New Hampshire Fish and Game described the snake as an "unwanted hitchhiker." The species is native to Ecuador.

Grocery store workers in New Hampshire got quite a surprise when a venomous snake was found in a recent shipment of bananas.

The store was not identified. The Ornate Cat-eyed Snake, a native to Ecuador, was taken to a reptile specialist.
