Traffic was brought to a standstill Saturday on East Ben White Boulevard at Interstate 35. Law enforcement shuttered the eastbound lanes as negotiators attempted to coax a woman down from the northbound I-35 flyover bridge.

Eastbound Ben White Boulevard at Interstate 35 was closed Saturday as law enforcement responded to a possible suicide attempt. Lt. Allen McClure of the Austin Police Department said a female was on the flyover bridge. The road would reopen "as soon as the person is taken off the bridge," he said shortly after 2 p.m.

Negotiators are trying to get a woman down from the overpass, APD said. Drivers have been told to expect delays.
