Two people died after a car slammed into a tree and part of a house in Fremont late Wednesday night, according to police and fire officials.

Fremont police are investigating a solo crash that killed two people Wednesday night when a car hit a tree and collided with a home.

The driver of a car crashed into a tree in a Fremont neighborhood, which then hit a house. The driver was killed, officials said. The crash occurred on Castro Lane at Mission Boulevard about 10:25 p.m.
