Lincoln Center Theater’s upcoming Broadway production of Adam Guettel beloved cult musical Floyd Collins will star Jeremy Jordan in the title role, producers announced today, confirming a rumor that’s been buzzing through New York’s theater community for weeks.

As for the cast, before beginning “Floyd Collins,” Jordan will conclude his run as the titular role in “The Great Gatsby.” He received a Tony nomination for his leading turn as Jack Kelly in 2012’s “Newsies.” His other Broadway credits include “Bonnie and Clyde,” “Rock of Ages,” “West Side Story,” “Waitress” and “American Son.”

Jeremy Jordan will star in the Broadway premiere of Floyd Collins this spring. Jordan, who is currently starring in The Great Gatsby on Broadway, with other credits including Newsies and Smash, will lead a cast that includes Jason Gotay as Homer Collins,

The musical, written by Tina Landau with music and lyrics by Adam Guettel, is based on the true story of a cave explorer trapped underground in Kentucky in 1925.
