The Falcons find themselves in the exact position many said they’d be in before the start of the season — a quarterback controversy. Kirk Cousins has turned in a third consecutive poor performance, and it’s led to calls for Michael Penix Jr.

Kirk Cousins threw his last touchdown pass in a 27-21 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Nov. 3. Cousins has thrown a total of six interceptions over his last three outings--all losses for the Atlanta Falcons .

It was always going to end like this. I think Falcons’ fans are more shocked it happened this quickly. The Kirk Cousins experience has been just that, a wild experience, and after yesterday’s home loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, Atlanta fans are calling for Cousins’ head and rightfully so.
