Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk was one of the top backers of President-elect Donald Trump's winning campaign against Vice President Kamala Harris.

Musk and Ramaswamy are coming to the mission ready to cut thousands of government positions and run the government like a business. The press release likened their mission to the Manhattan Project, which developed the atomic bomb.

The move comes after Musk became one of Trump's staunchest supporters, and biggest financial backers, during the last stage of his presidential campaign
